For when I don't want to do anything fancy and there's lots of plan-over rice.

Happy Good Friday Weekend

It's the last school day of this week and I'm probably not the most thankful person but certainly one of the most thankful ones!

Takoyaki was happy to have me reserve some of the fried winged beans we had for dinner for her bento today, as well as leftover tom yum soup.

Takoyaki's - fried winged beans with tom yum soup and rice

Roast Meat eat doesn't any of the above so I cooked some angel hair spaghetti for him (very fast to cook), topped it with tomato sardines and threw in some blanched green beans (blanched before the spaghetti).

Monday rolls around and I'm a Brand New Person!

With my bento mojo recharged, I am pleased to present a new furikake from the Kyushu Fair - Ume-Hijiki Furikake, which RM really likes (but not as much as I do, ha!) and Takoyaki really dislikes (as usual, these two are stark opposites).

On the side are some leftover steamed chicken from last night's dinner, blanched french beans, strawberry tomatoes and grapes. Viva la Bento!

We have reached Friday... Finally

Low on energy and mojo. Barely managed to complete the tamagoyai.

Same for both kids.

Repetition is... ok, you get the idea

I almost felt like taking a few days off but figured I'd rather lose some energy than have Roast Meat eat an unbalanced meal in school.

Wed's bento
Mini Nutella bear buns with cocktail sausages, capsicum, "salad" and oooh! M&Ms!

Thu's bento
For a change of pace, we bought his fav mini chicken pies to go with more or less the same sides as yesterday.

Thankful Tuesday - Meat Sauce

In another plan-over staple is my life-saver today. We all love meat sauce (what constitutes the "bolognaise" in spaghetti bolognaise) except the hubby so cooking this in large batches is always worth it. Takoyaki asked for "only bread to dip into it" with.

Repetition is better than no Bento

Especially since I'm working with limited ingredients and tools, in a limited environment. Fly Lice for everybody once again! This time with luncheon meat, oh yum! There's some salad consisting of cucumber ribbons and halved cherry tomatoes - so simple yet so tasty and pretty too.

Fussy Friday - Different Bentos for Different Kids Again

Takoyaki was happy to bring leftover Radish Soup with rice.

Fussy RM had kaya sandwiches with a spring onion omelette, which I fried in my tamagoyaki pan. Was a very conveniently-shaped omelette.
