Too many biscuits

Time to use up some of the (many) tupperwares of biscuits and cookies in my pantry, all opened and half-eaten. This was Takoyaki's box for recess.

Cherries, grapes, cookies, shortbread and pork floss rolls.
I really have to keep reminding myself to stop buying crackers/biscuits. Argh. Need more protein for the kids. Mr Roast Meat will be having some leftover meat as well.

Ritz cheese crackers, luncheon meat and Spongebob apple.

French toast

Mr Roast Meat wants less food, so he asks me for a "discount". All because he wants to finish his recess chopchop and go play chess with his friends. I guess I should be grateful, and encouraging, since before his current obsession, he was running around with his friends, playing hide and seek etc.

It's the last day to use up the bread loaf, so it's kinda stale. I decided to make French toast, and I get to eat the rest of the slices. Comfort food from childhood.

French toast, cheese wedge and grapes.

No box for Takoyaki today, as she wants to buy from the tuckshop.

Healthy? Kidding.

Today is another Learning Journey day, but this time it's for Mr Roast Meat, who is going to a hypermarket (Giant) to learn about healthy food choices. And Mom must be crazy, else why would she pack a box of UNhealthy snacks for him to bring along??

Pork floss rolls, M&Ms, lychees and Sara Lee pound cake
Takoyaki has some enrichment lessons today after school, so since I'm going to school for PV duties, I will be bringing her lunch. Hot!

Stirfried xiaobaicai with enoki over white rice, ayam sioh and fruits.

Inaugural post!

I officially started making bentos for my children last year, 2011. It's become quite an obsession with me, well... till we reach school holidays and I am glad to hide all my tools away.

Today, Takoyaki had a field trip to the Botanic Gardens, and was told to bring a snackbox. No sweat, I've been bentoing all along. I can still remember what it felt like more than two years ago whenever I had to help her pack something - at a loss.

She had originally asked me for pasta, but I wasn't feeling too well yesterday so didn't cook it last night (most of her bentos are packed the night before). However, she came back beaming, "I LIKED it!"

And here's Roast Meat's box:
He got to bring the pasta for recess. Sister had it for lunch after she got back from school. Kids are just crazy over luncheon meat. Heck, so am I.
